About this Webinar

OUTLETS is somewhat of a buzzword in the world of dog training and behaviour and the rise in popularity of various activities, from bitework, to working with sheep to dogs dragging weights sees such outlets being recommended quickly and often.

Whilst meeting species and breed specific or typical needs is important in optimising dog welfare, what may be overlooked at times are not only the risks associated with participating in certain outlets, but whether they are really best suited and needed to the individual dog and guardian.

This webinar will delve into the topic of outlets, looking at relevant research and breaking things down to help us avoid making generic assumptions and suggestions when working with dogs.

Learning Outcomes:

1.  Learn about the benefits of outlets.

2. Learn to fully consider what outlets may be suitable for the individual dog and their guardian.

3. Learn how to consider and mitigate the risks associated with specific activities that may provide a dog with an outlet.

4. Consider the research that supports outlets or conversely, brings the suitability and safety of certain activities into consideration.
